Depart early from Havana. Upon arrival in Viñales, we will give you a stroll around the lively center of the village & its main square, a wonderful opportunity to admire the local way of living & breath the incredible tranquility of this village.
We will continue with a visit to Los Jaminez Hotel, a local look out offering the most breath-taking views of the Valle de Viñales. Enjoy of a talk about the geological origins of the mogotes & the valleys around them.
Continue with a visit to the Cueva del Indio , home of the indians in the colonial era & enjoy a boat trip inside a cave to admire some of the most caprichous rock formations of the area.
We will then head to the Mural de la Prehistoria, a paiting on the wall of a mogote which symbolises the theory of the evolution in Viñales.
Lunch will be served at Finca Agroecologica El Paraiso. Enjoy their lovely organic food served overlooking the urrounding valleys & join your meal with their unique ecological ”anti-stress cocktail” made out of medicinal herbs grown in the farm terraces.
After lunch, we are proud to take you on hike of a tobacco plantation. This visit will include the home of the farmers who cultivate the tobacco & the ”tobacco shreds” .See how the tobacco is grown, aged, and rolled into a perfect cigar!

The geography in the area is stunning, and the town is ringed by stark mogotes – small hills with sheer rock faces. All of our Cuba group tours offer you the chance to take salsa lessons, and Viñales is the best place to do this. The nightlife is lively, but not as crowded as larger cities – just in case you don’t want to have an audience!
Vinales history
Before European settlement, the area was the home of a remnant Taino Population swelled with runaway slaves .{4}
The area was colonized at the beginning of the 1800s by tobacco growers from the Canary Islands, who settled in Vuelta Abajo región. The first settlement in Viñales is documented in 1871,in the form of a ranch belonging to Don Andres Hernandez Ramos. The town was established in 1878 as typical community ,with church ,school, hospital and recreation park. Declared Unesco Heritage Site since 1999 because of the natural beauty of the región and The use of traditional agricultural techniques {Tobacco production for instance}
Vinales is located in the west of Cuba, 176km away from Havana take approximately 2and 30 minutes get there in taxy.
Recommendation: Is necessary to wear comfortable sneakers and fresh cloth in summer, bring your sunblock or umbrella, the sun can burn in Cuba, but just a little bit. If u think to buy tobacco or souvenirs at the tobacco farm bring extra cash with u, for personal expenses.
